Heat Release (OSU 65/65 Testing)
ACES provides specialized Heat Release (OSU 65/65) Testing to evaluate the fire performance of materials used in aircraft cabin interiors. Using the Ohio State University (OSU) heat release test method, this testing measures the rate and total amount of heat released when materials are exposed to a controlled radiant heat source. Conducted in accordance with 14 CFR 25.853(d) and Appendix F, Part IV, OSU 65/65 testing helps determine whether applicable aircraft interior materials meet FAA flammability requirements, including limits on peak heat release rate and total heat release during the first two minutes.
With extensive experience in aviation testing and regulatory compliance, ACES delivers accurate, dependable test results to support aircraft certification, material qualification, and passenger safety.
