About ACES
Aviation Consulting & Engineering Solutions, Inc. (ACES) began in 1999 with a simple idea: provide the aviation industry with practical engineering and certification expertise backed by responsive, personal service. Founder Kevin Campbell started the company from a spare bedroom in his home.
What began as a small consulting operation grew steadily into a multidisciplinary aviation organization with its own engineering, certification and testing capabilities—and eventually a 20,000-square-foot campus in Maize, Kansas, just outside Wichita. That growth has expanded what ACES can do without changing the way the company approaches its work. Today, ACES supports projects ranging from individual aircraft components and structural modifications to seating, avionics installations and complete interior reconfigurations.
Its capabilities encompass mechanical design, structural analysis, 3D scanning, FAA certification, dynamic-seat engineering, flammability testing, structural and environmental testing, and specialized aircraft interior services. ACES combines traditional engineering methods with technologies such as finite-element modeling and analysis, while its certification resources include in-house DER expertise supplemented by a broader network of specialists.
Bringing those disciplines together is an important part of the ACES approach. Engineering decisions can be made with testing and certification requirements already in view. Test results can go directly back to the engineers who understand the design. Certification issues can be identified before they become expensive problems late in a project. And when a project crosses disciplines, customers can work with one organization rather than coordinating a collection of unrelated vendors. ACES has also supported engineering data approved or validated in the United States, Canada and Europe through the FAA, TCCA and EASA.
Built in the Air Capital. Built for Aviation.
Being located in the Wichita area places ACES in one of the world’s most established aviation communities. But the company's identity is defined less by geography than by the way it has grown: one capability at a time, in response to real aviation problems. What started as engineering consulting expanded into certification, specialized testing, product development and additional in-house capabilities that allow more of a project to remain connected from beginning to end. Today, ACES operates from its facility in Maize, Kansas, providing FAA certification, testing and engineering services to the aviation industry.
The result is a company large enough to handle complex certification and engineering programs, but specialized enough that every project still matters. Whether ACES is helping develop something new, documenting something that already exists, demonstrating compliance, solving an unexpected technical problem or helping move a completed design toward approval, the objective remains much the same as it was at the beginning: understand the challenge, find the practical solution, and help the customer get the project finished.
