Personal Floatation Device Buoyancy Testing

The personal flotation device test is an 8-hour test to measure the net buoyancy force of personal flotation devices used in aircraft to show compliance with the requirements of Technical Standard Orders TSO-C13 and TSO-C72.

All seat cushions, including seat cushions that double as a personal flotation device, may also be required to meet the fireblock test requirements of Appendix F, Part II of Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR) Part 25.
