The 45° Panel test evaluates the resistance of materials to flame penetration, flame propagation, and glow propagation when exposed to an open flame for 30 seconds at a 45° angle to show compliance with requirements of 14 CFR §§ 23.853, 25.853, 29.853, 23.855, 25.855, & 29.855.

Materials that require 45° Panel Second Vertical Testing:

  • Cargo compartment liners

  • Waste Stowage liners
